Frankie’s Family

Ten picture books for kids growing up in a blended family. Told by the littlest one in the house.

Book One ships first. Then nine more, on the way.

The Frankie's Family blended household, illustrated.

What this is

Books for the family your kid actually lives in.

We have five kids across three houses. Two of them pack a bag every week and go between two homes. We know this life because we are in it.

We went looking for picture books that named what our kids were feeling. Loving two people at once. Missing a parent who lives somewhere else. A new baby. A step-sibling they only see on weekends. There is almost nothing out there that says those words to a small kid.

So we wrote them ourselves.

Frankie, the 3-year-old narrator of Frankie's Family.

Meet the narrator

Hi. I’m Frankie.

I’m three. I’m the littlest one.

Nobody tells me much. But I see it. All of it. From down here.

I’ve got two big sisters, two big brothers, a mum, a dad, and two dogs called Daisy and Moose.

Some of us go to two houses. Some of us stay.

I’m the one telling you these stories. All ten of them.

Come and meet my family.

Who it’s for

If this is your house, these are your books.

Blended families

One home out of two histories.

You are building something new from two pasts. These books speak straight to the kids living in the middle of it.

Step-parents

Showing up without overstepping.

You are trying to earn trust, slowly, without standing on anyone’s toes. Frankie says the things your stepkids can’t yet.

Co-parenting homes

The kid who packs a bag.

Your child switches houses and carries the weight of both. There is a book here for that exact feeling.

What’s inside every book

A story for the kid. A tool for you.

01

A story told by Frankie

One feeling. One real situation. Told from down at kid height, in words a three-year-old gets and a seven-year-old still wants to hear.

02

Warm Pixar-style art

Bright, soft, full-page pictures your kid wants to sit inside. The kind of art that holds a small one still long enough to listen.

03

A Parent Companion

A companion at the back, just for you. The words to say and the move to make for that exact moment. Tonight, not someday.

The ten books

Ten feelings. Ten stories. One family.

Each one takes a single thing kids in blended families actually live through, and gives it a name, a story, and a way through.

From the founders

Blended doesn’t mean broken.

We’re Brit and Josh. We coach couples in blended families for a living. We also live it. Five kids, three houses, and the two of us trying to build one steady home in the middle of all of it.

Our kids needed books that told the truth about their life. The missing. The loving two people at once. The new baby. The weekends away. Nobody had written them, so we did. The Littles imprint is the kid-facing side of the work we do every day with the grown-ups.

Brit & Josh

This is the work we live, and the work we help couples do.

Frankie, the 3-year-old narrator of Frankie's Family.
