Build the system that protects your home from outside pressure, with or without your partner holding it with you.
Watch the lesson, then build your own boundary system in the worksheet at the end. Your work saves as you go.
Your relationship doesn't just break from inside. It breaks from pressure on the outside. A text from the ex. A late-night accusation. A boundary push. A handover that goes sideways. If you don't have a system to handle it, every one of those moments leaks straight into your home. This module is about ending that.
In most blended families, the ex creating the pressure still has emotional access to the household. Not physically. Emotionally. A message comes in. The mood shifts. Tension rises. Dinner feels different.
When external pressure controls your emotional state, your home becomes reactive instead of steady. A boundary system stops the leak.
You don't need stronger reactions. You need a stronger structure. The structure does the work so you don't have to keep deciding in the moment.
Every blended family has at least one ex in the picture. The trap looks different depending on which side you're on, but the cost is the same.
You might believe that keeping things smooth prevents conflict, so you over-explain and over-accommodate. But misaligned exes are not calmed by openness. They're fuelled by access. Your job is not to manage their emotions. It is to protect your home, your energy, and the relationship you're building.
You might believe it's not your place, so you stay silent and absorb the cost. The system you're about to build is not about overstepping. It's about protecting the home you live in. You get to have a stake in that.
You can build the system whether or not your partner is on board. It gets stronger the more of it you hold. When your partner sees it holding, they're more likely to start holding it with you. So we build it now, from your side.
A boundary system isn't an ex tool. It's a leadership tool. You'll use it for the rest of this program.
The things outside parties don't get a vote on. Your relationship, how you run the house, your money. Be specific.
The method (how), the messenger (who), the content (what), and the timing (when) of all communication with the pressure source.
Short, neutral, pre-agreed lines, so you never improvise under pressure.
What you will hold, regardless of what anyone else does.
Next: build your own. Your entries save automatically.
Write your own. There are no wrong answers. Your work saves as you type.
The things outside parties don't get a vote on.
How communication with the pressure source works.
Short, neutral lines you can use without thinking.
What you will hold, regardless of what anyone else does.
Add at least one entry to each of the four parts to complete the module.
Download your worksheet, then upload it to your Better Half portal with your other Phase 1 worksheets to build your plan.
This week: hold one non-negotiable, and use one pre-written response the next time a boundary is pushed.
